From the informational fragrance site Fragrantica:
“Princesse Jeanne d'Albret was the mother of Henry of Navarre, King Henry IV of France. She was the inspiration for the name of the Paris perfume house of Jean d'Albret, founded by Comte Guillaume d'Ornano. In 1960, the romantic floral Princesse d'Albret perfume brought fame to the house with its unique wild strawberry top note. It is considered one of three of the greatest French perfumes.”
Offered is an extremely rare atomiseur (spray) eau de toilette 58ml or 2.15oz, sealed in its original box. Circa 1970s. This mist certainly is sealed with propellant- banned in 1983 for its destructive effects to the ozone layer, it displaced oxygen and hence in most cases prevents much of the ageing to perfumes associated with “natural sprays” or those with oxygen in the bottles. There have been no reported concerns of these propellants in fragrances- only in the atmosphere at large. The upside to this is that the perfume should be near-perfect, despite its age.
