Zhaar is a 2024 limited release from niche perfume house Jorum Studio and house perfumer Euan McCall. The Time-Limited Release collection invites you to "Hop aboard the Jorum Studio time machine and experience a future-facing, seasonal limited release collection for adventurous noses. Revisiting beloved favourites and never-before-smelled fragrances from our perfumer’s archive. Fleeting glimpses into the creative heart of Jorum Studio, presented to energise and inspire. Each Time fragrance uses wild concentrations of rare or powerful materials in abundant quantities, with less than 200 bottles of each fragrance made."

Zhaar has a scent profile of white floral, citrus, green, aromatic, woody.

"Delving into our archive of travel notes, we rediscovered a formulation that was created to capture the memory of fresh orange flower distillations.

Imagine being surrounded by air filled with these most sublime little blooms as they make their metamorphosis from living flower to exquisite oil. The experience was akin to being enveloped by mist rolling from the sea, a phenomenon we refer to as ‘haar’ in Scotland. The delicious water produced from distilling orange flowers is referred to as ‘zhar’ in Morocco. It was my intention to capture this precious and fleeting moment – the petal-soft vapours falling like mist – and the equally delicate flavour of the water.

Many of the materials used in ZHAAR originate from (or are abundantly used throughout) the orange flower-growing regions, and the smell of steaming flowers is tied to these travel recollections. Delicate enough to convey and relive this memory, yet powerful enough to last all day in the hottest and most humid of climates – ZHAAR has been a fragrance that I prepare each May for my own personal use, in preparation for summer months to come. Note: Samples are sold by the 1ml. You may purchase a maximum of 2ml. Samples of 1ml or less will come in a glass vial with a dabber. Samples larger than 1ml will come in small glass spray bottles. All samples will be consolidated unless expressly requested otherwise.
