From the Brand:

"Japan covered with hills blanketed with tropical forests, undergrowth, moss growing on the bark of trees, the smell of damp forest. Nestled among the hills is a traditional wooden house made of Japanese cedar, infused with resins and fragrant oils. Some elements of this house are new, still fresh, others have darkened over time and their fragrance is mature, subtle. Situated in a valley among tall grasses, this house is built by joining the wooden elements without the use of nails, blending in with nature and being a part of it. The marshy area around it creates ideal conditions for cultivation. The scent of the roots, combined with the scent of damp earth, mingles with the scent of fresh wood and the surrounding moss. This is what AIYOKU smells like.

AIYOKU is a composition inspired by the descriptions in Alex Kerr’s book “Lost Japan”.

The perfume has a fresh, citrus, grassy, mossy, earthy, mulchy, woody character.

The perfume label is black letterpress printed on cotton paper, the golden frame is rendered by hot stamping. Both prints were made on historic printing machines from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The perfume bottles come from the north of France, where we can still find some of the last in the world outside of China perfume bottle factories, still producing semi-hand-made bottles.“
